JACK WONG
Jack Wong is a composer and producer based out of Los Angeles, California. Jack’s musical interest began when he was 8 years old and wanted to learn to play the piano. Wanting to continue his growing passion for music, at the age of 15 he taught himself how to play guitar. After developing skills in both instruments, it was then that Jack began to realize he wanted to pursue a path involved in composition. After a rabbit hole evening on YouTube, Jack stumbled across the Transformers soundtrack and instantly knew that he wanted to pursue this route to see where it could lead him. Jack spent, and still spends, countless hours listening and learning from a vast variety of great film composers.
As a recent graduate from the University of San Diego, Jack was able to obtain his BBA. Even though he did not study music in college, Jack did not let this hinder his love for composing and producing music. Throughout his time in college, Jack really began to hone his craft of being a composer by creating emotionally charged pieces for short films to high intensity trailer music.
Jack has recently composed multiple cues for Michael Nielsen, who is an owner and principal composer of Ninja Tracks. Jack is currently a co-owner of OneValley Sound Company, a small studio in Thousand Oaks, where he produces, engineers, and writes for his clients. Jack’s currently looking to work with composers to learn from their craft and to create lasting connections with those who work in the industry as well as whom he might work with in the future.
